The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier completed the investigations and is sending citizen H.Gj to trial for the criminal offense of 'Voting more than once or without identification', provided for by article 327/a pg.1 of the Criminal Code.
In the framework of criminal proceedings no. 108 of 2023, at the conclusion of the investigations for this criminal proceeding, the prosecution has taken the defendant citizen H.Gj., and has requested that the case be sent to court, after it was proven that, in the local by-elections in the Lushnja Municipality held on 06.03.2022, the defendant H.Gj. voted twice at the polling station ZAZ 54 Dushk, Lushnja Municipality.
From the process of cross-referencing the data of the electronic voter identification device (PEI), located in every Voting Center of the Republic of Albania, it resulted that the defendant voted the first time as a VCC commissioner in VC 2818, ZAZ 54, Dushk, based on Article 58 of the Electoral Code, and the second time in VC 2817, ZAZ 54, Dushk, as a resident.
In the following, the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier expresses its full commitment and the legal responsibility of persons who commit criminal offenses that affect free elections and the democratic electoral system.
