Academic Artan Fuga commented on the shocking event that occurred two days ago in the courtroom, where Astrit Kalaja was killed.
Fuga described this murder as a genuine assassination and as one of the most serious events after World War II in Albania.
"This case is far from any political or institutional discourse. This is one of the most serious blows to state representatives ever," Fuga told "Euronews Albania".
According to him, the violent act in a courtroom shows that the justice system is no longer an oasis of peace and security, as it should be for every judge. He emphasized that in the current conditions, a judge cannot exercise his function fairly, as he is under constant pressure and without protection.
"The judge needs to be calm, to feel safe to deliver justice, but this does not exist in any society ," Fuga said.
He stressed that justice is essentially intended to remove violence from society, but, on the contrary, in Albania, the current justice system "produces crime and violence."
This situation, according to him, has led to a society where assassinations are justified, and where the individual is confused with the system, obscuring analysis and responsibility.
