Blerina Meta, the mother of 3 children who were jailed today for the murder of their father Pëllumb Meta, has confessed that her husband had been abusing her continuously for 26 years.
Invited to the show "Pa Gjurmë" on "Report TV", she stated that the man was very aggressive and terrorized the whole family.
Excerpt from the interview:
Odeta Dume : How did you have your relationship with him?
Blerina Meta : He was an aggressive, very violent man. He never managed to calm down. He just terrorized the whole family. Even the windows on the second floor were sometimes not opened, the days when the police came they saw the windows with glue. I couldn't go out on the balcony to hang my clothes, I sat on my back.
"I am a woman who has been systematically abused for 26 years, including me and my children," she said.
Blerina Meta : Also the windows of the second floor. The day the police came the curtains were closed. I didn't go out on the balcony.
Odeta Dume: Before this happened, had he raped you?
Blerina Meta : Violence was present. I had found my way of not contradicting him. He talked about everything and decided on his own. If you would object to putting your hands on the throat like me like the children

Blerina Meta : Unfortunately not
Odeta Dume : Why?
Blerina Meta : Only out of fear
Odeta Dume : Who went to the police to report?
Blerina Meta : The older brother went to the police. I knew to lose that he had left home.
