After completing the investigation, the Tirana Prosecution Office has sent to trial the 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni, who killed his 37-year-old son Asim Gjoni with a bread knife in February of this year.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, completed the investigations and sent citizen H.Gj. to trial for 'Murder due to family relations' provided for by article 70/c of the Criminal Code.
At the conclusion of the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 796 of 2025, it resulted that on 01.02.2025, citizen H.Gj., for trivial reasons, argued and conflicted with his son A.Gj. and in the course of the conflict, he shot him with a cutting tool and as a result of the wound he received in the left groin, he died.
Asked as a person under investigation, citizen H.Gj. explained that that day when he sat down to eat bread, the boy sat down as well and started to verbally harass him. He felt bad and at one point got angry and slapped him in the face. Then, according to him, the boy A.Gj grabbed him by the clothes and told him not to hit him. At this moment, the girl intervened and asked him why he was behaving like this with his father, and the boy gave her a hard push, knocking her to the ground. At this moment, he got very angry, grabbed the bread knife that was on the table and hit his son once in the stomach (her).
The investigation resulted in the body of the corpse from the external and internal examination, a penetrating cutting wound was found on the left side of the chest, accompanied by ruptures of the left lung, the heart membrane on the left side of its apex, as well as cutting wounds on the fingers of both hands. The cause of death of citizen A.Gj. is severe traumatic hemorrhagic shock.
From the above, the person under investigation, citizen H.Gj., has fulfilled the elements of the criminal offense "Murder due to family relations", provided for by Article 79/c of the Criminal Code, to the detriment of his son, the deceased A.Gj.
