In an in-depth analysis of the hottest issues in Albanian justice, journalist Basir Çollaku commented on the "Ora e Betit" show on the latest developments surrounding the "Metamorphosis" file and the connections between politics, justice and the underworld.
" There are several episodes of "Metamorphosis". Today we had a verdict for some of the defendants.
We are dealing with the news, the law, and what this case represents. From 2015 to March 2021, when the amount of intercepted, copied material was absorbed, we are dealing with incriminated people who are talking about serious criminal offenses.
What is the basis of their communication? Murder, drug trafficking, money laundering.
We have justice, police, local and central government officials, ministers and MPs talking to people from the criminal world.
From here I see that the fight against crime has a kind of priority. If we had had the goodwill of the legislation, of the Albanian Parliament to create those legal links, legal adjustments, etc., they would have rushed.
This battle has paved the way for this evidence to go to evidence. The Special Prosecution Office, as of now, has 5-6 files that have been publicly exposed, we have this "Metamorphosis" that has 1,2,3, we have the "Toyota Jaris", the "Cyrbja", of Suel Çela. So, these 5-6 files so far for a period of 4-5 years.
Of course, there are millions of other pages coming from France, where the investigative group is, together with the Belgians and the Dutch, and they have a large number of materials brought, which the prosecutors, together with the BKH, are in the verification phase, of the action to go to the evidence, to cover it with other investigative material. You cannot go 'naked' to court ," said Çollaku.
