Jan Prenga's disappearance, Festim Bexhdili again appeals to the Supreme Court

Festim Bexhdili has appealed to the Supreme Court, challenging the decision of the Special Appeal dated July 25, 2025, which sentenced him to life imprisonment for the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga.

The electronic lottery at the third instance of the judiciary appointed Judge Ilir Panda as the rapporteur of the case. He is expected to set the date for the review of the appeal.

Previous courts found Bexhdil guilty of kidnapping or holding a person hostage resulting in death, in collaboration with a structured criminal group.

He was also convicted of illegal possession and production of weapons and ammunition, concealment or disposal of a corpse, as well as participation in a structured criminal group and committing criminal offenses within a criminal organization.

The Supreme Court will decide on the request to overturn the Appeals decision.
