From thief father to judge: how the Strakosha family turned corruption into a career...
Elbasan judge Megi Strakosha became an active party with prosecutor Gjergji Ceka in pressuring lawyer Uljan Bajrami in the courtroom, instigating his arbitrary arrest.
In addition to being the daughter of Vasillaq Strakosha, the former director of the Himara Municipality, convicted by SPAK for falsifying files and land grabbing, the judge has direct ties of interest with government figures and oligarchs who benefit from wealth, state funds and building permits for towers and resorts.
According to official documents published by "Pamfleti", Megi Strakosha was admitted to the Magistrates' School and appointed as a judge with the dirty money of her father, a land thief. Her cohabitant, Marsel Llukmani, turns out to be a member and expert in the "Anti-SPAK - Xhafaj" Parliamentary Commission.
It is not known what specific role a construction engineer has in the commission that oversees justice institutions, but the fact that Llukmani was included there as an activist of the "Soros" foundation and as a representative of Luan Bregas's "Biznes Albania" association shows that the decision was made for clear clientelistic reasons.
In addition to this position, Judge Strakosha's cohabitant is employed at "Biznes Albania" as a "civil law specialist"; a fictitious function, as his financial compensation comes from the judge's interventions in the legal cases of Bregas' businesses.
According to the tax register, Marsel Llukmani is also listed as employed by Luan Bregas's construction company "Sara-El sh.pk", with the position of director of projects, investments and management in the construction of towers, palaces, hotels and resorts.
Seven months ago, he became part of the management staff at the company "Galileo", while at the same time he is a manager at "SET-TourLab", a project funded with 100 million lek per year by the Municipality of Vlora as a "laboratory" for the preparation of new employees in the tourism sector.
Not coincidentally, the "expert" in this phantom project is also Vasillaq Strakosha, the father of judge Megi Strakosha, who was previously convicted by SPAK for falsifying property files in Himara.
The Strakosha family's networks of connections with Luan Bregas are documented in several deals and construction projects that have received direct government approval. It is through these connections that the judge's cohabitant has been introduced into the "Anti-SPAK - Xhafaj" commission, where he is paid millions of lek to formally sign the government's acts against justice.
The traces of these connections go back to the stolen lands in Himara by the judge's father, which were then used to build resorts for the "Bregasi" group, as happened with the falsified land file that benefited Olta Xhaçka, for which Strakosha was arrested and convicted by SPAK.
Seven months after his arrest, on July 22, 2021, Vasillaq Strakosha created the company "Strakosha Attorneys sh.pk", through which, according to data from investigative agencies, millions of lek circulate from corruption and the sale of stolen land in the Himara area./ Pamphlet
