She is the daughter of citizen Vasillaq Strakosha, a person convicted by the Albanian justice system for abuse of office and theft of public property, including the land of citizen Irakli Likoka in Himara.
According to the investigation files, SPAK requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison for Vasillaq Strakosha, former director of land and property management in the Himara Municipality, accused of abuse of office in collaboration with former mayor Jorgo Goro. The file shows that the lands of citizen Irakli Likoka were included in the abuse scheme, being illegally registered by municipal officials.
The court has found Vasillaq Strakosha guilty, confirming his role in one of the most shameful property theft cases in the south of the country. And today, his daughter, Judge Megi Strakosha, who should embody integrity and justice, comes into the courtroom to insult and humiliate lawyers who denounce corruption.
This fact constitutes a clear conflict of interest, and a serious violation of professional ethics, because a judge with direct family ties to persons convicted of corruption cannot judge impartially. The Strakosha case shows once again that the Albanian justice system is corrupt, filled with figures who inherit influence, not integrity.
