Three new charges from SPAK, Agasi still outside police control...
The Special Prosecution Office has filed a "mountain of accusations" against Ergys Agas, now called the "crime coordinator," but the police cannot find where he is hiding.
Today there was another serious accusation from Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, as according to him, the police are not issuing an international arrest warrant for him.
Agasi was declared wanted after the scandal with AKSHI, but not only was he not arrested, but he also took hundreds of bottles of wine worth millions of euros with him.
About a month ago, SPAK announced that the file on the disappearance of the wine had been transferred from the Tirana Prosecution Office to SPAK. However, it is learned that SPAK has registered 3 additional criminal offenses against Agas, merging the case with the AKSHI file. He is also accused of “ Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid”, “Storage or storage of contraband goods” and “Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity ”.
" Based on their subject matter competences, the First Instance Prosecutor's Office of General Jurisdiction of Tirana has declared incompetence for criminal procedure No. 9545/1 of 2026, against citizen EA, accused of committing criminal offenses committed under articles 172, 179/2 and 287 of the Criminal Code. In this case, the Special Prosecutor's Office, through the decision dated 2.3.2026, has accepted the receipt of the acts and their merger with criminal procedure no. 20/1-2025. This procedural action is decided to guarantee a full and comprehensive investigation within its competences and the disclosure of information ," SPAK officially states.
The wine bottles were seized during SPAK searches of Agas's properties, at a time when he was wanted along with Ermal Beqiri. Both are suspected of being leaders of a criminal group that, according to investigations, kidnapped businessmen and forced them to withdraw from tenders for the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI).
After the seizure, the quantity of wine was left in the custody of a cousin of Agas. However, when customs authorities went the next day to collect and store it, they found that the bottles were missing.
In this case, Agas' cousin is being investigated by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for actions that allegedly prevented the truth from being revealed, as he has not provided explanations for the location of the seized wine.
According to the expert report, the value of the wine found in the cellar is around 1.4 million euros. Experts estimate that if the bottles were sold individually on the market, their value could at least double.
Meanwhile, SPAK and the National Bureau of Investigation have also launched verifications to uncover the circumstances that enabled the disappearance of the seized wine. The investigation is focused on identifying the officials who allegedly ordered the removal of police forces and customs investigators from the facility's security service.
According to sources at the National Bureau of Investigation, the actions and inactions of the State Police leadership chain are being verified, from the leaders of the police station covering the area where Agas's property is located, to the police officers assigned to guard it.
Investigations with the same object have also been launched for customs structures, to discover whether an order was given to remove customs investigators from duty near Agas' villa, which may have created the opportunity for the removal of the seized wines.
Also, several officials of the Police Supervision Agency have been taken under verification, to see if legal obligations for investigating possible illegal actions of police officers in this case have been respected.
In order to conduct the investigation, SPAK has administered the complete documentation of the inspection procedure at Agas's property, including seizure minutes, financial assessment acts, footage and the list of persons in charge of preserving material evidence.
Meanwhile, regarding the AKSHI scandal, SPAK brought charges against him: Illegal competition through violence, illegal deprivation of liberty, violation of equality in tenders, money laundering and participation in a structured criminal group . So we have 8 charges against him and the police can't find him.
Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri have been declared internationally wanted on charges of illegal competition through illegal deprivation of liberty and participation in a criminal group. According to SPAK investigations, they are suspected of having ordered the kidnapping of businessman Gerond Meçe and forcing him to withdraw his complaints regarding AKSHI tenders.
