From these benefits, Bashkim Ulaj gave monthly "taxes" to Shkëlze and Argita Berisha and financed DP personally to Sali Berisha; while in 2013 he connected with Edi Rama, reducing the checks for the "non grata" boss's family, convinced that he will no longer come to power.
This irritated Sali Berisha so much that he attacked Bashkim Ulaj, accusing him of the theft of 1.3 billion Euros, carried out with Edi Rama in the construction and tax concession of the Thumanë-Kashar road.
On the day of the opening of this road, Saliu accused Bashkim Ulaj of using fictitious projects, estimates and expenses from the government and the company "Gener-2 Sh.pk"; the Thumanë-Kashar road has cost 4 times more than the higher quality and wider highways in Germany, France, Italy, Austria and 6 times more than in the countries of the region.
Taking advantage of the blocking of the circulation of funds due to the defect in the electronic tax payment system, Sali Berisha called on the citizens to stand up against Edi Rama, Belinda Balluku and Bashkim Ulaj, calling them a "mafia gang" that will extort Albanians for 35 years.
A day after the government provisionally withdrew from the Thumanë-Kashar road toll, Sali Berisha attacked his oligarch Bashkim Ulaj again, calling on Albanians to remove the toll beams of this road.
But the next day, as if on cue, Sali Berisha stopped the attacks on the concession road, which Bashkim Ulaj has built and taken for 35 years; he even called it a serious and quality investment several times, accusing only the government of delaying it for 5 years.
On July 24, the residents of Thumana and Fushë-Kruja called on the DP leaders to take part in the protest against Bashkim Ulaj, which has blocked the traffic in and out of this road, but no DP leader went to the protest. didn't say a word.
