The State Department warns Tirana about the 2019 agreement with Lukashenko, which opened the doors to the Russian and Belarusian mafia in Albania, while Rama is accused of coordinated movements with pro-Kremlin networks...
Prime Minister Edi Rama's official and informal connections with Vladimir Putin's economic-financial and diplomatic circles, even outside of Russia, have set the US State Department in motion to "rein in" Albania's adventurer.
After the lack of congratulations for his fourth term; after the White House blocking invitations for nearly 5 years; after the disregard shown to him by US Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Conference in February 2025; after being banned from approaching President Donald Trump at the NATO Summit on June 25, 2025 and after being banned from participating in the UN meeting, Edi Rama has received another blow from the US.

A week ago, the State Department gave the Albanian government an ultimatum to cancel the agreement with the Belarusian government on the abolition of visas between the two countries; an agreement signed on December 27, 2019 by Edi Rama and Aleksandër Lukashenko, a friend and collaborator of Vladimir Putin for the aggression against Ukraine.
By letter no. 13471, dated September 24, 2025, just 5 days after the decree of the "Rama 4" government, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announced that it has suspended the visa waiver agreement with Lukashenko's Belarus, starting from September 30, 2025.

This agreement, which for 6 years had opened the Albanian border to the Belarusian and Russian mafia and money laundering groups with Belarusian citizenship, was deemed unacceptable by the US in January 2025, when the State Department asked Rama to cease cooperation with a vassal state of Russia.
But Rama, on May 15, 2025, only partially suspended visas - banning them for Belarusian citizens without financial power, while leaving them in force for the wealthy, thus allowing the mafia and terrorist groups linked to Lukashenko and Putin to freely enter Albania.
FBI information that mafia groups with Belarusian documents are located in Albania, which launder money and organize pro-Russian subversive activities in the Balkans, forced the White House to issue an ultimatum to Rama last week to cancel the reciprocal visa agreement with Belarus.
This time too, Rama, caught by Russian networks, did not cancel the visas as the US requested, but only suspended them.
The Americans have also "taken note" of the private dinner in Azerbaijan, which Rama attended with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, as well as with sheikhs and leaders of mafia clans from the Arab, Asian and African worlds linked in interests with Vladimir Putin. / Pamphlet
