Before being appointed Prefect of Vlora, the former deputy and minister of LSI, Vangjel Tavo, became a resident of Himara, a fact that proves that Prime Minister Edi Rama made a deal with him early on to run for Mayor of Himara.
While after the appointment as Prefect of Vlora, Vangjel Tavo has removed the "skin" from the servant of the Greek anti-Albanian circles in line with Fredi Beleri and Vangjel Dule, and is lecturing in the media and often going to Himarë, declaring himself "a minority who he loves Albania very much".
He even made up stories, as if allegedly the Greek circles of the "Mavi" and "Golden Dawn" groups set traps for him several times, to kill him as a sign of punishment for "Albanianism"; when, together with Beler, they are part of the Mavi group, while the leaders of the "Agimi i Artë" party have been linked to Ilir Meta.
Those who know the "Albanian patriot" and "anti-Greek" Vangjelis Tavos, know many facts about him from the services he has done for the interests of the chauvinist circles of the "Vorio Epirit" movement, one of which belongs to the last few years.
At the end of October 2018, after the (suicide) of the anti-Albanian extremist Kostandinos Kaçifas in the village of Bularat in Dropulli; Vangjel Tavo, at that time a member of the LSI, went there together with Vangjel Dule and Fredi Beleri.
By boasting that he was the deputy of the Greek people in Albania, Vangjel Tavo joined the extremist anti-Albanian crowd that came from Greece to Dropull, where he demonstrated with flags of Vorio-Epir, the "Mavi" group, the "Golden Dawn" party and shouted for the burning alive of Albanians, the dismemberment and the declaration of an autonomous Greek land in the south.
On October 29, Vangjel Tavo, Vangjel Dule and Fredi Beleri accused the Albanian police of killing the anti-Albanian extremist Kostandinos Kaçifas; saying, that he did not want to kill anyone, but was defending the cause as a missionary in the interest of his nation (Greek).
On November 4, 2018, Vangjel Tavo went to Kaçifas's family, accompanied by the extremist Greek MP Eleni Theocarus, where he promised his mother that Kaçifas' blood was shed for the cause of the motherland (Greek) and justice would be sought.
On November 8, 2018, the former deputy of LSI, Vangjel Tavo, went to the funeral ceremony of Kacifas, becoming part of the Greek crowd, which called for the takeover of the south of Albania by war. About his presence at that ceremony, he was asked by the media, with what status he went there and why he does not distance himself from anti-Albanian calls, but he said that he went as a deputy of the minority; he even reacted against the Albanian State, why he arrested 9 extremists and declared 52 others "non grata".
Meanwhile, now that he was appointed Prefect and candidate for mayor in Himarë, Vangjel Tavo has changed his "skin", removing himself as a missionary of peace in Himarë; but now that Edi Rama calls Vangjeli "angel"; while Vangjeli calls Edi Rama "Burë", we are reminding him of a specific case:
