Nikola's funny letter, the "poor" DASH official in front of her...
An incident as scandalous as it was funny happened today in the Parliament of Albania. As Mazhoranca today voted at the Conference of Presidents for the establishment of a commission that aims to silence the media, the president Lindita Nikolla has published a funny letter.
She has written to the State Department's Special Envoy and Coordinator for the Center for Global Engagement asking for his help, saying his experience will help efforts against foreign malign influence.
But, Mr. James Rubin, before answering Nikola, he should see the wealth of the President of the Assembly. The gentleman is an official with a long career in DASH, while Nikolla is a minister and speaker of the Assembly. But, in recent years, the speaker has filled her pockets well.
" Pamphlet " is publishing the property declaration of Nikola since before the SP took power. There are some question marks in the wealth declared by her.
In 2012, the husband of Mrs. Nikola declares that he has benefited from 182m2 of arable land through donation. While in 2013, he declares receiving a loan of 6,000 euros from a friend, an amount which turns out to be unreturned.
Meanwhile, in 2014, the husband of Mrs. Nikolla declares that he received a scholarship of 24,000 euros from "Ecole Des Hautes Etudes", but there is no information on costs or other expenses for studies abroad.
In 2022, the most recent declaration, the husband declares that he has invested large sums in treasury bonds. He declares that he invested 3,740,815 ALL and 2,807,605 ALL. According to him, the source is the salary. But, if we look at the salary, the gentleman declares ALL 1,923,048 as a lecturer. So, he must not touch his salary for four years to justify these investments in treasury bonds. What raises the most doubts is that the investment in bonds has come since Lindita Nikolla employed her daughter at the Bank of Albania.
But another part is that Nikola has been accused of taking advantage of a villa. The former prime minister, Sali Berisha, previously denounced Lindia Nikolla for her luxury villa, which costs 1.1 million euros and is located in the block of luxury villas in Lundër. However, it seems that the Speaker of the Assembly has not declared such wealth. The villa was built by a builder from Durrës, a patriot of Nikola's husband. Are we dealing with hiding wealth? Does Nikola live in the villa and not declare it?
