Was Turkey Iran's target? Erdogan reacts: We leave nothing to chance
Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey is taking all necessary security measures in close cooperation with NATO allies, following the incident with the shooting down of an Iranian missile in Turkish airspace.

According to Turkish authorities, the missile was intercepted by NATO air defense systems after it crossed over Iraqi and Syrian airspace and was heading towards Turkey's southern coast. The incident has heightened concerns in Ankara about an escalation of the conflict in the region.

Erdogan stressed that Turkey has reacted immediately to the situation and that the country is in constant coordination with alliance partners to ensure security.

" Turkey is taking all necessary measures and acting in close cooperation with NATO allies, reacting immediately when required ," the Turkish president declared.

He added that Ankara has issued the strongest diplomatic warnings to avoid a recurrence of similar incidents and that the security of the country's borders and airspace remains an absolute priority.

" Turkey leaves nothing to chance when it comes to protecting its borders and airspace ," Erdogan stressed, describing the current situation as one of the most sensitive periods for the region.

The incident occurs at a time when the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East is creating new security tensions for countries in the region and for the NATO alliance.
