The allegations circulating suggest that Trump may not have entered the war with Iran entirely of his own free will, but under strong political and security pressure. There is talk of a climate of fear, suspicious incidents, and influence from various actors that may have pushed him towards this decision. However, there is no clear public evidence and it remains unclear whether this is real pressure or an interpretation of the situation.
Joe Kent, the former US counterterrorism chief who resigned two weeks ago because he opposed attacking Iran, was courageous. In an open letter, he explained that his country had been drawn into the war under “pressure from Israel and the powerful lobby” that promotes Israeli interests in the US, without reason, since according to him Tehran posed no threat.
Also significant was what he stated in an interview with Tucker Carlson, particularly the revelation about the killing of Charlie Kirk, which he called a “public execution.” According to Kent, this happened shortly after Kirk had made a significant contribution to preventing the US from getting involved in the war against Iran last June.
This commitment was also personally noted by Kent, who said he had met Kirk at the White House shortly before he spoke with Trump. During the meeting, the young politician had strongly urged him to work to prevent war.
The interview also mentions the obstruction of the FBI's investigation into Kirk's murder, which Kent says has blocked the ability to follow "traces" related to a possible foreign lead.
These were the elements that received the most attention. Less echoed was a perhaps more important part of the interview. At the end of it, Carlson raised this question: “ I was told that Netanyahu’s security chief was caught twice by the secret services planting a device in the presidential security service’s emergency vehicle. I don’t know if that’s true, have you heard anything? ”

Kjo linjë shpjegimi përputhet me atë të Max Blumenthal, sipas të cilit Izraeli dhe FBI kanë ndikuar te Trump duke e bindur se Irani donte ta vriste, duke i atribuar Teheranit dy atentatet e dështuara dhe madje duke krijuar skenarë të rremë për këtë qëllim. Sipas kësaj teze, ai u bind se Irani “po e ndiqte me skuadra atentatorësh shumë të trajnuar”.
Një interpretim i tillë presupozon se Trump është i paditur dhe injoron elemente që dolën nga hetimet e atentateve, të cilat sugjeronin pista të tjera (si rasti i atentatorit të dytë që kishte rekrutuar mercenarë për Ukrainën).
Më e mundshme është që Trump, megjithëse i paqëndrueshëm, e ka kuptuar natyrën e këtyre manipulimeve dhe i ka lidhur ato me episodet e sigurisë të përmendura nga Carlson dhe Kent, duke kuptuar se është në shënjestër – por jo nga Irani.
Kjo ndihmon për të shpjeguar deklaratat kontradiktore të Trump për luftën: ato mund të pasqyrojnë një gjendje konfuzioni, por edhe një përpjekje për të krijuar një mjegull informacioni mbi qëllimet e tij reale, siç është analizuar edhe nga Haaretz.
