
An Iberia pilot on a flight to Paris was forced to make an emergency landing after a collision with a large bird caused significant damage to the plane's nose shortly after takeoff from Madrid.
Iberia flight IB579 was forced to return to the airport of departure after the collision, as material on the front of the fuselage was torn off the aircraft, an Airbus A321-253NY.
In one photo, the bird that caused the crash is seen on one of the plane's engines.
According to FlightRadar24 data, the plane made a short circle over the area around Madrid before landing back at the airport.
