Donald Trump commented on the incident involving the killing of a woman by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis, describing it as "self-defense."
Trump reacted via Truth Social, where he emphasized: “I just saw the video of the incident that took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is horrific to watch. The woman who was screaming was, obviously, a professional protester, and the woman driving the car was very upset, obstructed, resisted, and then drove her car violently, intentionally, and viciously towards the ICE officer, who appeared to have shot her in self-defense. Based on the attached video, it is hard to believe that he was alive, but he is now in the hospital. The situation is being thoroughly investigated, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the radical left threatens, attacks, and targets law enforcement officers and ICE agents every day. They are simply trying to do their job, to make America safe. We must stand with law enforcement officers and protect them from this radical left movement of violence and hate !”
The president's statement comes as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances under which the agent used his weapon, while the incident has sparked strong reactions regarding the use of force by law enforcement agencies in immigration cases.
