A resident of this neighborhood, Tyrice Jones, filmed the first moments after the incident, showing the woman’s body covered in blood inside the vehicle.

The clip that President Trump shared does not include any moments before the shooting, and another view of the video appears to show that there was no contact between the vehicle and the agent before the shots were fired. This has fueled heated debate about what really happened and how justified the use of force was.
Footage shows several bystanders criticizing the officers who shot the woman as she lay on the seat, with people trying to calm the situation and clarify whether medical help was available. A man who identifies himself as a doctor tries to approach the body, but is stopped by officers.

U.S. justice analysts and experts note that Justice Department officials under the current administration have been less willing to prosecute law enforcement agents for excessive use of force. Federal law gives agents the authority to use deadly force if someone poses an imminent threat to life or serious physical harm, but investigations typically take weeks or months before full details are revealed.
There is concern that the lack of body cameras on many ICE agents and the strong political acceptance of their actions under this administration could hinder legal accountability for these incidents.
