Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has responded to a Politico report claiming he expressed concerns about US President Donald Trump's mental state during an EU summit last week.
In a live post on the X platform, Fico called these claims "politically motivated lies" and accused the media of serving as a liberal propaganda instrument close to Brussels.
" I have not spoken about this topic with any European leader and I have not shared any comments on President Trump's health ," Fico declared, dismissing the claims based on anonymous diplomatic sources.
For its part, the White House also officially reacted by calling the information "completely false" and emphasizing that the Trump-Fico meeting on January 17 in Florida was positive and productive, with a focus on cooperation on nuclear energy.
Politico's report, citing five unnamed European diplomats, claimed that Fico was "concerned" after meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and that he had shared these concerns with other EU leaders, describing the US president as "dangerous" due to his psychological state.
The episode has once again reignited debate about Donald Trump's physical and mental health, a sensitive topic for the 79-year-old. Trump himself has often used this card against his rival Joe Biden, trying to present himself as more energetic and capable of leading the country.
