US President Donald Trump is considering a broad offensive against Iran, which could include not only military strikes but also attempts at regime change in Tehran, according to sources on Israeli national television. The news was broadcast on the evening edition of Israeli public broadcaster KAN, raising the alarm about a possible escalation in the region.
In parallel, Israeli media have paid particular attention to a strong statement by Ali Shamkhani, an advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In a post on the X network, Shamkhani warned that any military action by the US “will be considered the start of a war” and that the Iranian response will be “immediate, unprecedented and directed not only at the aggressor, but also at his supporters, including the heart of Tel Aviv.”
These statements reinforce the ever-growing tension between the US, Iran and regional actors, as the Middle East region enters a dangerous phase of uncertainty, where a single incident could escalate into widespread military clashes.
