Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused the United States and Israel of using the Gaza issue to cover up, according to her, plans against Iran, putting Arab countries at risk.
At a press conference, Zakharova stated that a few days before an alleged attack on Iran, a meeting of the Peace Council, foreseen by an international resolution, had been held in Washington.
"It is now clear to everyone that the Americans and Israelis did not even intend to discuss their actions with their Arab partners... who in fact put them in danger by using the Gaza issue, including to cover up their aggressive actions against Iran," she said.
According to her, this development shows a lack of transparency and coordination with countries in the region, while accusing the US and Israel of unilateral actions.
The statements come in a context of high tensions in the Middle East, while there is no independent confirmation of the claims raised by the Russian side.
