The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Defense has announced that air defense systems have detected and neutralized a series of ballistic missiles and drones that entered the country's airspace.
In a statement published on the social network "X", the ministry stated that nine ballistic missiles and 35 drones flying towards the territory of the United Arab Emirates have been identified.
According to authorities, eight of the ballistic missiles were shot down by air defense systems, while another fell into the sea without causing damage. Defense forces also managed to neutralize 26 of the 35 drones, while verifications are ongoing to determine the fate of the remaining unmanned aerial vehicles.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage, while authorities emphasize that the situation has been brought under control and that security structures continue to monitor the airspace.
Although there is no official confirmation of the origin of the attack, various international sources and preliminary analysis suggest that the missiles and drones may have been launched from Iran, towards the United Arab Emirates.
Emirati authorities have stressed that they are in coordination with regional and international security partners, while air defense remains on high alert to face any potential threat.
