Terrorist attack alert from Tehran at Hamburg airport, flights suspended

An alert about a possible terrorist attack has caused panic throughout Germany's Hamburg airport.

Hamburg Airport temporarily suspended all flights (inbound and outbound) today based on a request from the federal police. According to German news agency DPA, an airport spokesman said the airport had received a threat to attack a plane originating in Tehran.

The plane, which landed at the German airport around 12:20 (local time), had 198 passengers and 16 crew members on board. It is learned that the passengers were sent to a separate gate.

In addition to some military forces, the fire service is also present at the scene.
