The indescribable agony of a father who tells the moment he saw a video posted "online", where his daughter begs for her life. "It was Noa, scared and threatened. You can't believe her, even when you see clearly that she is your daughter", he says.
He now wants this video to be seen widely. 25-year-old Noa Argamani is seen on the back of a motorcycle that is leaving. Two men hold her partner, Avi Nathan, with his hands tied behind his back. A large plume of smoke is visible in the background. They were among more than 1,000 people celebrating at a music festival in southern Israel, near the border with Gaza, when they were attacked by armed militants in the early hours of Saturday.
Noah's father says his daughter and her boyfriend were kidnapped. Their whereabouts are unknown, but they are presumed to be in Gaza. "I am very sad. She is my only daughter", says Yakov Argamani.
His pain is reflected in many others. Parents, family members, wives and husbands gripped by terror and despair as they ponder the fate of loved ones kidnapped by Hamas.
In another video that is circulating "online", a woman is seen in the back of a pick-up truck, while the militants put a scarf on her head.
Yony Asher, a resident of the Sharon region, told CNN that his wife and two daughters, ages 5 and 3, were visiting their grandmother near the Gaza border. He lost contact with them on Saturday morning and suspects they may have been kidnapped. Later in the day, suspicions were confirmed when he saw the video: the woman in the scarf was his wife.
"There is no doubt in my mind. They are my wife and two little girls. Now I know for sure that they were kidnapped", says Asher.
The Israel Defense Forces say they are trying to determine the exact number of hostages taken by Hamas militants, underscoring the complex nature of the situation. From the data so far, it is estimated that over 100 people may have been kidnapped.
Yakov has a message for those holding his daughter hostage: “You have victims, just like us. This is an opportunity to connect the two countries, to achieve peace".
