Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israeli troops have advanced on the outskirts of Gaza City and that they still expect further advances.
Through a post on the "X" platform, Netanyahu said that no one and nothing could stop the advance of Israeli troops.
" We are at the height of the battle. We have had impressive successes and passed the outskirts of Gaza City. We are advancing. Nothing will stop us. We will move forward. We will advance and win and we do with God's help and with the help of our heroic warriors ," he said.
The urban environment is seen as a much greater challenge for the military than the rural terrain they have covered so far. Traps are believed to be lying in wait, while Hamas is suspected to have prepared sniper and anti-tank positions. The Israeli army will also have to contend with a vast network of underground tunnels, which Hamas has already used to launch surprise attacks against soldiers.
