Serbia will present in a month a new anti-drone system that it bought from Russia.
Serbian President Aleksander Vucic has announced that the anti-drone system called Repellent was bought some time ago by Russia.
Its presentation will take place on the National Day of Serbia on February 15 in the southern city of Nis.
Vucic's announcement comes a few weeks after the US accepted Kosovo's request for the purchase of Javelin anti-tank missiles, which will be reviewed by the US Congress.
Likewise, a few months ago, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced the purchase of Bayraktar drones from Turkey.
So far, Vucic has not announced when the anti-drone system was purchased, but clarified that it is in the hands of Serbia.
Earlier, Vucic had said that money had been allocated from the budget for the purchase of 701 complex weapons systems.
Once again, he emphasized that Serbia is a regional tank superpower and that it is close to completing the third battery of the FK-3 air defense missile system from China.
Vucic also announced that he will launch a new initiative to reinstate compulsory military service in Serbia.
Serbia declares itself as a militarily neutral country and buys weapons both in the East and in the West.
