The International Committee of the Red Cross has offered to act as an intermediary in the return home of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
This comes as negotiators from both sides will begin discussions on the peace deal in Egypt today.
"Our teams are ready to act as neutral humanitarian intermediaries to help return hostages and detainees to their families. We are also prepared to bring aid to Gaza and distribute it safely to civilians in dire need," said ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric.
The ICRC says it has already facilitated the release of 148 hostages and 1,931 detainees since October 2023.
