US President Donald Trump has engaged in a negotiation process to end Russia's more than three-year war in Ukraine.
After meeting in Alaska with Vladimir Putin, Trump has met with Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, and European leaders. There is already talk of a Putin-Zelensky meeting and then another format, where Trump would join, with a guarantor role for any agreement that might be reached.
The first reaction to these developments has also come from China.
"China always believes that dialogue and negotiations are the only solution to the Ukrainian crisis," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a daily briefing, adding that Beijing "supports all efforts to contribute to peace."
