During his visit to the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky repeatedly and relentlessly expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump, the Washington Post reports.
The publication believes that this is one of the main issues on the Ukrainian president's agenda during his visit.
"Volodymyr Zelensky made sure to thank President Donald Trump, and he did so repeatedly. Zelensky thanked Trump for hosting him and other world leaders at the White House on Monday to end Russia's war against Ukraine."
He thanked her for introducing him to the other guests and the media. He thanked her for "a very good conversation."
And he even thanked Trump for giving him a map of his country,” the article says.
In total, the Ukrainian president said 'thank you' to Trump a full 11 times in 4.5 minutes.
However, he was not alone in this, but "joined other Europeans and NATO leaders in a chorus of gratitude praising Trump."
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte thanked "dear Donald" for his leadership in efforts to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen thanked him for raising concerns about the systematic abductions of Ukrainian children by Russia.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni thanked Trump for bringing them together, the newspaper reported.
