The global spotlight yesterday was on US President Donald Trump's meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders at the White House.
Donald Trump said he had a "very good meeting" at the White House with key European leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The meeting, which resulted in further talks in the Oval Office, focused on security guarantees for Ukraine, which European countries intend to provide in cooperation with the United States. According to Trump, all participants expressed their optimism about the possibility of achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine, after almost four years of war.
The photos released Monday morning from the Oval Office talks are interesting. Trump is seen sitting in his office with all of his White House guests in front of him. Some people even wrote on social media that the image resembles a teacher in front of his "students."
These images were commented on by Russian President Vladimir Putin's adviser, Kirill Dmitriev, who wrote: "... Daddy Trump and the leaders of the European Union."
Donald Trump led the European leaders to several parts of the White House, and one of them was the "corner" with souvenirs.
