Even her most loyal supporters seem to be unaware of the prime minister's summer destination. "Oh, well, I don't know," was the most common response from those close to Meloni when interviewed by Il Messaggero.
Boats, Sardinia and Roman destinations
"She needs to relax," someone replies, hinting at a boating vacation. It's an easy way to avoid reporters and being photographed in the presence of her young daughter.
"I don't know where she's going on vacation because I'm careful not to ask," confesses another. The reason is simple: that way, if she finds out, I'm off the list of suspects. If there's one thing that drives her crazy, it's that she's with you even during the trip. It's the usual fox hunt that starts before she even leaves her den."
There are several options on the table. Some are talking about Argentario, between the island of Giglio and Porto Ercole. "No, no, she's going to Sardinia. This summer will be all about Sardinia for her," others reveal. Meanwhile, some are indifferent.
"A little Argentario and a little Sardinia."
