Michael Roth, the chairman of the foreign policy committee of the German Bundestag, published a letter signed by 24 senior members of parliaments of European countries, which has been sent to the leaders of the European Union.
Together with the letter, he also had a message for the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vučić, where, among other things, he said: You are completely isolated.
"Dear President Vucic, this is neither a conspiracy nor a socialist campaign. You are completely isolated! 24 high-ranking representatives from across Europe call on the EU to independently investigate allegations of fraud and make recommendations to ensure free and fair elections in Serbia," writes Roth on the X platform.
The letter calls on the European Union to conduct an independent investigation into all reported irregularities and allegations of fraud.
"Our common goal is to see Serbia as a member of the European Union in this decade. A necessary condition for this is functional democracy and the rule of law," the letter states.
They state that the events after the elections and the state's repressive response indicate a further escalation of autocratic development in the state.
Serbia's cooperation with Russia has also been marked as a critical risk for the entire Western Balkans.
Otherwise, the letter was addressed to Ursula von der Leyen, Roberta Metsolas, Charles Michel, Josep Borelli and Miroslav Lajcak.
Among others, the letter was signed by Alicia Cairns from Great Britain, Giulio Terzi from Italy, Domagoj Hajduković from Croatia, Stefanos Gkikas from Greece.
