39-year-old US Air Force veteran Matthew James Sullivan has been found dead, just months before he was due to testify before Congress about secret government programs related to UFOs.
According to Virginia medical examiner authorities, his death, on May 12, 2024, was attributed to an “accidental overdose” from a combination of alcohol and medications, including Alprazolam, muscle relaxants, and antidepressants.
However, the circumstances of his death have raised political alarm. Representative Eric Burlison called the case “extremely disturbing” and called for the FBI to intervene, citing potential national security implications.
In a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, it is noted that "the unexpected and suspicious circumstances of the death raise serious questions, especially as Sullivan was preparing to testify before Congress."
The FBI, without commenting specifically on the case, confirmed that it is investigating possible links between Sullivan's death and other cases of missing or deceased scientists in the US.
Sullivan, a Bronze Star recipient for his actions in Operation Enduring Freedom, had served in critical intelligence agencies, such as the Air Force and the National Security Agency.
According to sources, he participated in a secret UFO debris collection program and is alleged to have had close-up views of unidentified flying objects in the possession of the US government. His upcoming testimony is believed to reveal crucial information about decades of covert operations.
Meanwhile, other witnesses have also reported threats. Former officer David Grusch told Congress that the US has UFOs and "non-human biological artifacts," while also revealing that he received death threats.
The Sullivan case, combined with others, reinforces scenarios of a dark web surrounding secret programs and raises new questions about the safety of those who try to speak out publicly.
