Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin appears willing to consider a direct meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
Peskov recalled that the Russian president's position remains strong.
" He does not rule out the possibility of such a meeting, but believes that any contact at the highest level must be well prepared in order to lead to the finalization of what has been previously worked out by experts," he said.
As the Kremlin spokesman noted, Moscow believes that a possible bilateral summit should not be limited to a symbolic exchange of views, but should lead to concrete results.
For this reason, technical groups and relevant staff are called upon to work in advance to prepare the ground for each future meeting.
