Several emails recently released by the US Department of Justice reveal ongoing communications between a modeling agent and the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex crimes.
According to the documents, Ramsey Elkholy sent hundreds of emails to Epstein between 2009 and 2019. In these communications, he described young models, often commenting on their physical appearance and attitudes toward intimate relationships. In some cases, he directly suggested meeting young women, including girls who had just turned 18.
In one of the 2011 emails, Elkholy refers to a woman in her 20s as "in need of money," suggesting to Epstein: "Dear Jeffrey, please try her in bed."
The documents also show that he proposed investments in the fashion industry in Brazil as a way to expand his network of contacts with models.
In a response to the BBC, Elkholy expressed regret for the language used in some of the messages and for the connection to Epstein, stating that he was unaware of his abuse.
According to US federal authorities, the communications between them often focused on securing access to young girls in the modeling industry. The documents also suggest Epstein's broader connections in the industry, including possible contacts with well-known international figures and companies.
The emails also mention well-known names in the fashion industry and connections to other agents, including Jean-Luc Brunel, who was found dead in a Paris prison in 2022 while under investigation for serious charges.
According to the FBI, the number of Epstein's victims could reach up to 1,000 women and girls. The latest documents are seen as further evidence of the vast network of contacts he had built up over the years.
