US President Donald Trump has again commented on his dislike for the NATO alliance.
He says he is "very disappointed" with NATO for not helping the US with the Iran war.
"I've always said that NATO is a paper tiger."
"If there was ever a big war, I guarantee you they wouldn't be there," Trump adds, apparently referring to a possible World War III.
"They made a big mistake, they weren't there," Trump adds.
Trump specifically mentions Emmanuel Macron of France and Friedrich Merz of Germany, saying they are his "friends" but criticizing those who said Iran is not their war.
"Well, Ukraine is not our war, but we helped them," Trump says.
President Trump said the war "is not over yet" and that the US has "3,554 more targets" left to strike. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US could achieve its objectives "without ground troops" and that the war could be over within weeks.
Meanwhile, the aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush is expected to deploy to a nearby conflict zone, according to CNN. It is not clear whether it will join or replace the US aircraft carriers already in the region. More than 1,000 troops are also being deployed, CNN reports.
