Turkey has been shocked by the murder of 26-year-old lawyer Hatice Kocaefe, who was allegedly executed by businessman Haki Cetin over a financial dispute.
According to Turkish media, Cetin owed 95,000 euros to the victim's sister. The incident is suspected to have occurred after Kocaefe had initiated legal proceedings against him to settle this debt.
It is reported that the perpetrator had previously threatened the two sisters over the phone, asking them to withdraw the lawsuit. The 26-year-old lawyer had refused and stated that she would pursue legal action.
According to preliminary information, Cetin ambushed the two sisters while they were with their father and brother outside a warehouse owned by the family.
Security camera footage shows the moment the perpetrator shoots from inside his vehicle, seriously wounding the lawyer in the chest and her sister in the knee.
The injured were rushed to the hospital, but despite the doctors' efforts, Hatice Kocaefe did not survive.
