
Egypt's Foreign Ministry has asked Israel to stop rocket attacks near the Rafah border crossing in Gaza, as the attacks are making operations difficult.
It could be opened this evening or tomorrow morning, for six hours, to allow Egyptian humanitarian aid into Gaza, if Israel agrees to a ceasefire.
Egypt recently declared that the crossing is open for now.
The spokesman added that aid currently halted in the towns of al-Arish and Sheikh Zowaid in Sinai is about to leave for the Strip.
The US is in talks with Israel, the UN and Egypt about allowing aid to Gaza and ensuring safe passage for civilians.
Fighting between Israel and Hamas continues for the sixth consecutive day, while the death toll has increased. In Israel so far, 1,354 victims and about 3,300 wounded have been reported. Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip it has increased to 1,200 and 5,600 people are reported to have been injured.
American Secretary Antony Blinken has arrived in Israel as a sign of solidarity with the country. According to Palestinian authorities, Blinken will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
After Israel formed a wartime cabinet, including the opposition, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark warning saying they would kill any member of Hamas.
