Kyriakos Mitsotakis has stated that he will not tolerate the instrumentalization of the Muslim minority by Turkey. Thus referring you to a case where Ankara was able to influence the recent elections that took place in Greece, in some areas with a Muslim majority.
Speaking this morning on SKAI television, Kyriakos Mitsotakis accused Alexis Tsipras of knowing about the intervention of the Turkish consulate in favor of SYRIZA candidates in Rodopi and Xanthi, but chose not to take any initiative. He added that he will discuss this with the Turkish president, Erdogan.
A few hours later, Alexis Tsipras tried to answer Kyriakos Mitsotakis with an interview he gave to TRT television which will be shown on Sunday night.
According to an excerpt of his statements made public by Koumoundourou, Tsipras attributed Mitsotakis' statements to ND's electoral fitness, claiming that the "problem" has been created because SYRIZA won in Rodopi and not by PASOK or ND.
