The long-awaited counter-offensive seems to be showing the first positive signs, as the Ukrainian army has made advances in some areas occupied by the Russians. Its soldiers have regained control of the village of Blahodatne, located along the front line between Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk in southeastern Ukraine, and several surrounding areas.
A video released by the official Telegram channel of the Ground Forces of Ukraine shows soldiers of the 68th Brigade raising the Ukrainian flag from a building in the area, which lies several kilometers south of the town of Velyka Novosilka.

CNN cannot independently verify reports from the battlefield in Ukraine, but the military's claim appears to match unofficial snippets released by Russian journalists and propagandists this weekend that have suggested Kiev's forces are making some gains in southeastern Ukraine. .
