Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey will not give up its opposition to Sweden's membership in NATO, if it does not stop harboring groups that Ankara considers to be terrorists.
Sweden and Finland applied for NATO membership last year, abandoning long-standing policies of military non-commitment following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Membership applications must be approved by all NATO members, but Turkey and Hungary have yet to clear Sweden's bid.
Turkey has repeatedly said Sweden should take additional steps against supporters of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and members of a network Ankara holds responsible for a 2016 coup attempt. Turkey treats both groups as terrorist organization.
