The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that she could not imagine the European Union without Ukraine.
Ursula von der Leyen held a press conference in Madrid with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, dedicated to the start of the Spanish presidency of the EU Council.
"Can we imagine the EU without Ukraine or the Balkan countries, which will remain under the influence of Russia or China? Impossible! Therefore, we need to discuss what the new EU will look like. What will the decision-making mechanism look like, what will the distribution of common budget funds look like, what common programs will we implement and what strengths will the new EU have," said the president of the European Commission.
