"I'm worried, it will kill others"/ The message of the former

A former OceanGate employee was fired after raising concerns about the safety of the Titan submarine. He emailed an associate saying he was worried the firm's CEO would kill himself and others in a 'quest to boost his ego'.

David Lochridge, formerly OceanGate's director of marine operations, who worked at the company between 2015 and 2018, was fired after raising concerns about Titan's safety for much of its construction process.

These warnings were supposedly delivered during the second half of 2017, but have been repeatedly denied.

Lochridge emailed project collaborator Rob McCallum, who also left OceanGate over security concerns.

"I don't want to be seen as a Tattle tale, but I am very concerned that he kills himself and others in an effort to boost his ego," Lochridge-Rush wrote, The New Yorker reports.

The intrepid engineer reportedly continued: "I'd consider myself pretty weird when it comes to doing things that are dangerous, but that sub is an accident waiting to happen. There's no way on earth you could have me paid to sink the thing."

The veteran diver also found problems with the submarine's ceiling faces, noting that they had obvious dive holes.
