The Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, has expressed concern about the recent Israeli attacks in Syria.
Israel's military says it has struck military targets across Syria in an effort to ensure weapons, including warplanes and chemical weapons, do not fall into rebel hands after the Assad regime was toppled.
Guterres said on Tuesday that he was "against these types of attacks", with spokesman Stephane Dujarric today adding that the UN chief was concerned by recent and widespread violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"The Secretary-General is particularly concerned about hundreds of Israeli airstrikes in several locations in Syria, stressing the urgent need to reduce violence on all fronts across the country ," Dujarric told reporters.
