Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency service, has stated that 89 people have been injured as a result of ballistic missile attacks from Iran today.
Authorities say most of the injuries are indirect, mostly from people who were injured while running for shelters, from acute anxiety or from falling. Specific victims include: A 16-year-old boy injured by shrapnel in Kafr Qassem. A man in his 50s injured by the shock wave of the explosion in Ka'abiyye-Tabbash-Hajjajrem.
In other cases, such as in Tirat Carmel, several people were slightly injured after falling from a height due to rocket fragments.
Video and reports also show material damage to several buildings, including one in Petah Tikva, but no injuries reported there.
The Iranian attacks came in retaliation for previous Israeli and US strikes on targets in Iran, including areas in Tehran and air defense systems. The situation remains highly tense, with sirens constantly blaring in Israel and warnings of new waves of attacks.
Israeli authorities are urging citizens to stay near shelters and follow civil defense instructions.
