Any enemy that threatens the security of the State of Israel “will pay a high price.” This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli army, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, in a message to citizens after the launch of Operation “Lion’s Journey” against Iran, carried out – according to him – in an “unprecedented cooperation” with the US military.
"We are prepared with high operational readiness, in defense and offense. We are facing a significant and unprecedented campaign to destroy the capabilities of the Iranian terrorist regime, which poses a constant existential threat to the security of the State of Israel. This is a campaign that will guarantee our existence and future here," Zamir said, adding that "strategic targets" have been hit.
Referring to the June attack, Zamir stated that in that case the Israeli army "overthrew the Iranian nuclear project" and damaged the ballistic missile arsenal, undermining - according to him - the plan that the Iranian regime had developed with regional partners against Israel.
According to the Chief of Staff, the Islamic Republic remains "vulnerable," but despite the damage suffered, he stressed that the Iranian authorities have not given up on their goals. Zamir accused Tehran of continuing its nuclear program, accelerating the production of ballistic missiles and supporting armed groups in the region, undermining regional stability.
The statements reflect the official position of the Israeli military regarding recent military developments.
