Israeli and American airstrikes on Iran continue at high intensity, as Tehran faces new waves of strikes in the east and southeast of the capital. According to the Iranian news agency ISNA, missiles hit eastern areas of Tehran this afternoon, following warnings from the Israeli military for residents to leave these areas.
This morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) completed the twelfth wave of airstrikes in Tehran, targeting targets linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and special forces units. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the latest strikes had destroyed most of Iran’s air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields. This has created a situation where the US and Israel enjoy increasing freedom of action in the airspace over Iran.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said yesterday that the US and Israel will achieve "complete control over Iranian skies" within a week. He stressed that this will enable continuous flights day and night to find, disable and destroy missiles, the Iranian military's defense industrial base, as well as the regime's military and political leaders.
The situation remains very tense, with increasing civilian and military casualties, and the risk of war expanding in the region.
