Heavy rains have alarmed Europe and caused numerous floods in many countries in the east and west of the continent.
The water level of the Danube, the highest since 2013, has flooded the embankments in Budapest.
Due to the intensification of the waters, the municipal office of the Hungarian capital announced that the cars parked near them have been removed. According to the latest data, the water level of the Danube is 7 meters.
Flood barriers have been erected in numerous localities along the Dutch Lisel River, following a period of heavy rain. According to local authorities, the water level in the river in question is rising rapidly, by one centimeter per hour.
The level and intensity of the waters has also increased in neighboring Germany, with the ground being saturated and making it difficult to absorb water from the ground.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is expected in the west of Lithuania in the coming days. Although in some areas the water level is shrinking, forecasts for 25 millimeters of rain have raised concerns.
