The British newspaper "The Independent" writes that a detailed protocol coded as 'Menai Bridge', 'Ura Menai', will be immediately implemented if King Charles III were to pass away.
On the day the Monarch was diagnosed with cancer, it seems the royal family is taking measures in case he passes away.
According to protocol, the royal family will be notified of the king's death in a series of phone calls, informing the prime minister, the cabinet secretary and several ministers and senior government officials. As with the death of Elizabeth II, the information will then be broadcast to Commonwealth countries in which the monarch is head of state and then to the press.
The coronation of Charles III's successor, Prince William, will take place a few months after his father's death, while his wife, Kate Middleton, will become the king's consort. William will address the nation that day and begin meetings with government officials.
Noteworthy is the absence of mention of the youngest heir to the royal family, Prince Harry, who has for some time no longer been part of the claims to the royal throne, due to contradictions within the royal family.
Codenamed Operation Menai Bridge, it was named after the world's first iron suspension bridge in Wales, which the current Monarch has served for years.
