Russia has changed tactics in its attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine, using precision missiles to destroy power plants in less protected regions than Kiev.
Some of them cannot be fully repaired in time for next winter, writes the Financial Times citing Ukrainian officials.
According to officials, the damage caused by Moscow is more severe compared to those caused in the winter of 2022-2023.
The apparent current goal is to take the power plants out of operation forever. Russia targeted seven power plants between March 22 and 29, all in regions other than the capital, which has some of the best air defenses in the country.
Moscow's missiles also hit two hydropower plants, the FT added.
